Indigo Touch App Reviews

Re-review -- great!

Installed this on two iPhone 6s and had problems on both. Wrote intemperate negative review which I now withdraw. After that I eliminated this update from both phones and restored it. Now works and works beautifully. Dont know what I did wrong with first installations. This app is a real joy and improvement over previous version (which is still pretty good -- still running that on an older phone that I dont update). James Eason

2.0 Update!

Been anticipating this update for a long time and it delivers. Well thought out GUI and controls. Fantastic… now if we can get Apple Watch support that’d be massive!

Great upgrade!

These guys are listening to there users! Particularly appreciate the log feature.

Good improvements over past version

I use this app all the time. It is very well designed and reliable.

Great Update

It has been a long time since this was updated. Great job on this version. Indigo is an outstanding home automation system for the amateur or pro.

Wonderful program, wonderful company

The indigo server software is an amazing way to control home automation. The iPad and iPod program just makes it that much better. Incredibly responsive company, I highly recommend this entire package.

Keep the app updates and feautures coming!

Let me start by saying that Indigo is by far the most flexible, powerful, yet easy to use home automation platform available on the Mac. It allows for the seamless integration of IP and RF-based protocols including ZWave and Insteon/X10. It is definitely worth the (somewhat steep) price. That being said, Perceptive Automation is a very small company (only 2 guys, last I heard) and as such they can be quite slow to deliver on updates and new features to their iOS app — though when they do deliver eventually, they often exceed expectations. This app underwent a major overhaul about a year ago, adding many new and much needed features and a great facelift as well. That being said, there have been very few updates since — mostly bug fix/maintenance releases. Most disappointingly, Apple Watch and Notification Center widget support have still not been added. This is the primary reason for my 4-star review. From reading around on the Indigo forums, it appears that the slow pace of updates is because Matt and Jay devote most of their time/energy to the Mac server/client. This is understandable and certainly made the most sense back when home automation was in its infancy. But as HomeKit and competing HA platforms bring iOS/mobile devices to the center of HA, Indigo will need to devote more resources to their iOS app to remain relevant.

Its good, but where is the Watch app

Update - down graded one more star, where is teh Apple Watch app? If you dont think an Apple Watch app is highly desirable, then you must not have an Apple Watch. This is a nice companion to the Mac app, but 6 months into Apple Watch, where is the watch app? Please? Also, for a rapidly changing field like this no updates since April is a bit troubling.

Great iPhone App to Compliment Great Mac App

This is great home automation app works with Insteon, Z-wave, Hue, Sonos, Nest, etc. I control all of my homes lights, thermostats, and garage door with this app. (I have insteon and Z-wave swicthes installed throughout.). I can control them from anywhere I have either cell phone reception or wifi. Its awesome and helps me keep the house more efficient.

Most useful app on my phone

Indigo Touch lets me easily control almost everything in my home. The ability to simply input a floor plan with icon touch switches was amazing. I cant wait for the new subscription service with Prism and Watch support. The developers provide great support both on-line and personal.

Seems to be solid

I have been using the Indigo app for a couple of months and would have to say it is reliable. The Mac app uploads changes to Indigo Touch immediately.

Simple and easy

Works great, simple to set up and use. I use to control Insteon devices.

Awesome software

By far the best MAC home automation software available today. Lots of 3rd party extensions available and the ability to do very complex automation tasks.

Great app

App is very convenient and easy to use. I love being able to shut off all the lights my kids have left on at night with a few simple taps on my phone.

Disappointed

While this app is free, the companion desktop app costs $200. And for that price, I have very high expectations, bug-free software. But this app can’t stay in-sync with my lights, making it simply not worth the price. When I manually turn a light on or off, I want the app to correctly display the state of the light, and for $200, I don’t think I’m asking for too much.

Cant find local server

A useful app when it can find (over wifi) the local Indigo server. Often, it cant. If it could it would make a lot of remotes redundant.

Excellent App! Stable and Loaded w/Functions

I have been using Indigo for a decade and touch since it launched. The development team continue to keep Touch up-to-date and have achieved a product that is useful and stable with a great and easy to use interface. Like others have already confirmed Touch is the most useful App on my iPhone.

Professional App

I have been using this app for many years. It reminds me every several months to write a review so I finally got around to it. This app has done everything Ive asked it to do with flying colors. It has remained stable over multiple updates and the updates have always arrived in a timely manner. I wish all apps were this competent. One outstanding feature is the reflection integration. This allows the app to connect via Wi-Fi or cellular and it sets itself up automatically without any configuration needed on the app.

Awesome

Indigo is the best by far. Wasted to much money and time on "other" home automation platforms. Thanks Inidgo!!!

Great App

I recently switched from Vera to Indigo and have made more progress with this tool in 1 month than I did in a year of work with Vera. I upgraded my Vera to version 7 and started having issues - that was the last straw. Vera only handles my door locks now.
